    Light Pure Button Lac is a type of shellac that is very close to Garnet in color.  This color is one of the most popular colors because it produces a rich and warm looking amber color.  It truly brings out the most desired colors on lighter colored woods.  Button Lac also creates a very hard and durable surface. The processing of Button Lac polymerizes it, resulting in a superb material for French Polishing.

    Button Lac is the preferred choice for French Polishing, Floor Finishing, tough & moisture resistant finishes.

    Button Lac contains wax and may not be as compatible as dewaxed shellac when being used in combination with other finishing products like Polyurethane, Waterlox etc. This is due to the wax content. It is for this reason a lot of woodworkers only use dewaxed shellac.  However, if you are not mixing products this type is the best and specialists feel its by far the best shellac.  If being used in combination with other products, it's recommended that samples be made prior to committing the project to a certain sequence.

    All-natural - Button Lac is a resin of insect origin that is harvested regularly and is a completely renewable resource much like silk.

    Button Lac is dissolved by denatured ethyl alcohol. It's very easy to use and an excellent non-toxic choice for woodworkers. Button Lac can be applied with a brush, pad, sprayer, or wiping cloth. It has a super fast dry time, thus saving money and aggravation. ;

    Button Lac is UV - resistant and does not yellow or darken over time.

    Button Lac will adhere tenaciously to virtually any surface and is much less brittle than lacquer and does not scratch as easily. Unlike toxic polyurethane, a damaged shellac finish can easily be touched up or renewed by applying another coat. A new coat of shellac melts itself into the existing coat.

    Unlike other types of finish, all types of shellac can be applied in cold temperatures without concern over proper drying and curing times.

    Button Lac Enhances the beauty of wood grain unlike any other finish. Shellac is one of the only wood finishes that really brings out the natural beauty of wood without that fake plastic look. Shellac, especially when applied using the French Polishing technique will make the wood grain pop. It brings out the rich warmth of wood grain in a way that no other finish has ever done.
